I am a California licensed real estate agent, and a real estate developer/investor. I am passionate about real estate and consistently rank in the top 5-10% across all Coldwell Banker offices globally serving as a long-term trusted partner to my clients. Buying and selling real estate is exciting. Everyone, from friends to new acquaintances, always wants to talk about the current real estate market. Real estate is part of the American dream and evokes passion, interest and curiosity in people.
Moving to the San Francisco Peninsula in 1996, I have experienced three periods of rapid appreciation, and two market corrections in real estate. In my past life, I was an executive at highly successful financial and Internet companies with a significant analytical and value-creation focus. I negotiated deals and I managed business development and salespeople who did deals. The largest of transactions required complex valuation modeling and deep strategic analysis, and it was important to be as thorough as possible as it would likely impact to the company stock price. I have been in roles ranging from serving as a VP for a start-up that went IPO during the original Internet boom, to negotiating $100+ million M&A deals for a Fortune 500 company. I think because of this analytical/strategic background, people are always asking my thoughts about the current housing market. I never tire of these conversations and really enjoy being able to help people with their real estate needs.
Over the years, many have suggested that I write a blog on real estate given the really crazy ride that we have been on in SF Bay – particularly in the past 8 years. I hope to provide insights and analysis into what I am seeing in the marketplace. I hope to provide perspective to people and help potential buyers, sellers and/or investors frame their thought process on how to move forward in a rapidly changing marketplace. I will try to be insightful at providing guidance to those seeking to buy their 1st home, upgrade to their dream house or for investors looking to achieve a good return. Every individual situation is different, so what might be the right answer for one could very well be different for another person.
